Riser Bolt Torque Machine

The Riser Bolt Torque Machine delivers a breakthrough in safety and operational efficiency.
By enabling remote tightening and loosening of all riser bolts, it dramatically reduces red zone exposure. The system spins and torques all bolts simultaneously, completing the process far faster than manual methods. Testing confirms that the entire sequence is finished in four minutes or less.

Available in both 6-bolt and 8-bolt configurations, the machine is designed to fit the majority of drilling risers in use today.

Moonpool Trolley With Lift

The moonpool trolley with lift enables the use of a higher and larger x-mas tree on drillships where the clearance is not sufficient between moonpool and drillfloor. The moonpool trolley can be disassembled and assembled on-site to enable easy worldwide shipping in 2×40 ft ISO containers.

The moonpool in the photos was delivered to a drillship in Brazil. Stavanger Engineering was responsible for engineering, construction, testing, certification, installation and commissioning.

Telescopic Energy Absorbing Mousehole

Our Telescopic Energy Absorbing Mousehole can catch dropped tubulars and does not need be removed when not in use, thus saving 6 – 8 hours of rig time several times a year.

The current designs of mouseholes either do not have energy absorbing capabilities, or have longer length and thus see excessive green sea loads during harsh weather. This makes it necessary to shorten the length of the mousehole during winter season. Stavanger Engineering’s Telescopic Energy Absorbing Mousehole [TEAM] can operate at all weather conditions with a full length 90 ft stand. In addition, TEAM can be retracted and skidded away when not in use, eliminating 6 – 8 hours of rig time several times per year. The current design is made to absorb the energy from a 27.000 lbs / 12.250 kg drill collar stand dropped from 96 ft. TEAM can be tailored to suit the interface needs of your rig.

Moonpool Tubular Support Tool

The Moonpool Tubular Support Tool is used to support tubulars and keep the rig working for longer in harsh weather and high current conditions. The first Moonpool Tubular Support Tool was delivered in 2020 and has a proven track record as a reliable tool to keep tubulars vertical with up to 35 mT of side force.

An optional version of the Moonpool Tubular Support Tool is available to dampen vibrations. This is applicable for high-current conditions during tophole drilling where vortex induced vibrations is a challenge.
